A friend of mine just sent me this CBS news clip featuring women RV’ing. Worth the watch for sure.
I watched this on TV this morning. Not too bad.
CBS did a good job, from the standpoint that they didn't look for any sensationalist media hype type stuff. Sure would like more depth and individual portraits of long time women full-timers. I bet there are some great stories to be told!
There were quite a few disappointed comments on the WomenRV forum after watching this. They took a lot of footage of the Texas Ramblin Roses in Bandera and didn't use hardly anything. And none of the women I know are a bunch of scared women running around out there with a mannikin riding next to them and a giant pair of boots alongside their door. It would have been nice to show that there are a lot of different women RVing either full or part time.
I liked the 82 yr. old. Means there may be hope for me someday.i was afraid I might be getting to old to give it a whirl.
As a native Texas, I hear ya longdog2, I do, but it was a start and it was an acknowledgment. I don't have my RV yet and I SO look up to the pioneers like the women featured on this clip AND you AND Sassy and so many others. I'll join you one day. Until then, thanks for blazing the trail! :)
