ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY AT “Q”

It started out as a productive day whereby I got some papers together to submit for prescription re-imbursements. Had to go through mounds of stuff though to find them !! LOL NO, I’m still not as organized as I’d like to be.

Then it turned into a ‘low’ day and I rested for quite awhile. Finally I got my ass in gear, showered and went for a little run into Town. It was already 3:30PM by then – but definitely the nicest part of the day.

Didn’t want to go into the “big tent” area or the other areas that are still very busy. Decided this time to turn left at the main intersection to see what was down there. Got an ice cream and had a nice, leisurely walk around for a couple of hours.

And then homeward bound.

When I got back home Bennie and I played and watched yet another beautiful sunset.

GOTTA GET A NEW ‘TOUR GUIDE’

Yesterday Paul and I took our last ride together. He’s heading out tomorrow (Sunday) towards the East Coast. Silly Boy !!!

We took the scenic route to Bouse, AZ, via Plomosa Rd. (less than 40 miles) and were on the road not 10 minutes when we pulled in for pics.

Not long later we found a lovely little Park to have our lunch.

03

This Park is on BLM Land and has electric and water hook-ups on your site with sewer dumping within the Park. Cost = $10.00 a night !!!

I got talking to one of the Hosts there who also rides a Heritage Softail – GOOD TASTE !! LOL He already has his front forks chromed (at 1/3 the cost of what I’m paying but we won’t talk about that !!) and now that I’ve actually seen it on a Heritage I can’t wait for next week when I’ll be getting mine done.

Other than that it was a fairly uneventful (but fabulous ride). We headed to Parker and then I don't know where until we got back around 4:00PM.

Good Night Folks….

MORE “LIFE’S EXPERIENCES”

While boondocking my only challenge is keeping my computer charged as it is my evenings entertainment. I don’t watch TV.

I have this little 200W Inverter that I plug into the cigarette lighter while driving to keep things like my computer, cell phone etc. charged. But I’m not doing any driving now and I sooooo hate the noise of the generator.

A little while ago I recalled that there were times when I shut off the engine I forgot to pull out this little inverter yet the RV started up no problem. Hmmmm, I thought – well if that is the case why can’t I use it to charge the computer battery even though the engine is not running.

First time I did it I only had it on for about 1/2 hour and then started the RV…..no problem. OK, so the next time I did it I tried it for about 45 minutes….no problem. And finally I used it for 1 hour and still no problem. The RV started up right away. Excellent !!

So for the last weeks I have been alternating with using this little inverter (for an hour max) and the generator, which has given me power for my computer for the whole evening.

Now of course you know what’s coming ! Yup, I must have used it once too often yesterday (I stayed home all day) and I noticed the computer wasn’t charging last night. Went to start the engine = ZIPPO – NADA – NOT A GIG. I thought these rigs had a ‘button’ you can press to start the engine from the coach batteries. I actually (for the first time….blush, blush) resorted to pulling out THE MANUAL !!

I discovered that yes in fact they do have said ‘button’ – but my model doesn’t have it !!! Now you have to know me – I really stress over these things. But I have CAA/AAA so why am I worried.

So first thing this morning (ok ‘first thing’ is about 2 hours after I get up LOL) I all CAA and in no time the guy is here and everything is well again. He said to leave the engine running for about 1/2 hour and take the rig out for a run to get a good charge which I did later this afternoon.
But priorities first – that is after I know the RV is ok. Hopped on the bike and went into ‘town’ again to do more checking out all that is here. I stopped into a section I had not been before and this was all ‘flea market’ kind of stuff.

These chairs are everywhere and I got a laugh out of that.

07

AND I bought myself a HAT ! I’ve been wanting a ‘cowboy’ hat since I got here but couldn’t find just the right one. This one was IT ! It’s very light and it’s BLUE. A couple was standing next to me as I was trying it on and they said it was perfect for me as it brought out my eyes. AND it was only $3.00 !!

08

You see everything at “Q” and there really is something here for everyone.

And I bought a chair. Nice and lightweight, has a side table on one side and pouches (for cell phone, magazines etc.) on the other side. Peter, I think this one has your name on it.

14

Now the challenge was how was I going to get it home ? OK, My flag has to come off and Bennie’s little coat has to protect my chrome luggage rack.

Countless bungee cords later….

Home safe and sound !! But I will say that while riding home, the car behind me stayed quite a distance back…….seriously ! LOL

I love it that I can have the door and windows open all day. And Bennie really likes it when the door is open so he can look out at all the goings on. He really is the PERFECT dog because he will just lay there for hours and not jump out.

01

Today was my third time strolling through all the Vendors here and I don’t think I’ve covered 1/4 of what is here.

ANOTHER GREAT RIDING DAY

Thanks to my Tour Guide Paul.  The weather was perfect and the roads awesome.  We were on the road by 11:00AM (a nice respectable hour) and got back around 6:00PM. This time I kinda know where we went.

We left Quartzsite and took the I-95 to Parker, Arizona.  Before proceeding further we took a turn to somewhere ???  PAUL, you will have to fill in here ‘cause I don’t remember where that was.  This road had nothing but very sharp, BLIND, hair pin curves !!  I thought Bennie was going to come flying out of his kennel.  When you see a sign with the arrow that says 15mph you know the curve is gonna be SHARP !!  What fun !!

After that we rode over the Parker Dam and eventually ended up in Lake Havasu City where the “London Bridge” is.  You really must Google that because it is quite amazing.

01

I made sandwiches and this is where we stopped for lunch.  I hate ‘fast food’ and besides I have better things to do with my money….CHROME !!  LOL

This is Lake Havasu City.  I HAVE to go back there ! What a pretty place.

There were these all along a walkway:

13

I thought Bennie might want to go for a swim but he wanted NO part of that !!

14

This plaque talks a little about the London Bridge.  Don’t know if you’ll be able to read it.

Arrived ‘home’ just in time to see this:

Paul also took several pics with his fancy smanchy camera so I’m sure those will be a whole lot better than mine.  Can’t wait to see them……hint, hint…

I also took several short videos but the quality is sooooo bad.  I suppose if I’d stop spending money on CHROME I’d be able to get one of those very EXPENSIVE cameras that you mount on the handlebars.  Anyhooo, Here are the videos.  Other than 2 or 3, the others are boring in that they were taken while riding in hopes of showing some of the spectacular scenery….but unfortunately it doesn’t show up well.

WHAT A DAY !!
